Awhile back, as I was driving for work. I saw one of those highway billboard signs. It was a U.S. Marines recruiting sign. A branch, which I proudly served, for almost 7 years. The sign read, Marines Fight To Win!
I began contemplating what the phrase “Fight To Win,” might mean in our walk of faith with Jesus. Are there times on our walk with Jesus, that we need to fight? Do we go through trials and tribulations in life? Are obstacles placed in our way, as followers of Christ? You bet! We all face trials, tribulations, and obstacles in life. We will all go through struggles at some point in our lives, every single one of us will face adversity.
How do we overcome doubt, fear, and anxiety, when we face trials in life? These are all emotions we most likely experience, when we go through struggles. However, there is hope through our struggles. We can stand on the promises, of the word of God. In knowing that Jesus loves us. That God gave His Son Jesus, to shed His blood on the cross for our sins. And that no matter what we go through in this life, Jesus will always be right there with us. The love of the Lord never ceases. As is spoken of in Lamentations.
Lamentations 3:22-23:
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Sometimes in the heat of the battle, Jesus may be difficult to see. Our vision may be clouded, or the mirror of life, may be steamed up. Life can sometimes be like a mirror we can see through, because it’s all steamed up. You can’t see anything for a moment, but, wipe away the steam, and there you are.
God is right there with us, all you have to do is wipe away the steam, you will see Him. There are situations and circumstances in life, where we must fight to get through. Life is hard, but my motto is, “Never GiveUp”. No matter how hard challenges are, we fight, don’t give up! There is hope and power, in the name of Jesus. However, when we are in the midst of a fight, we must make sure to protect ourselves. God has given us the armor we need, in the heat of our battles. As is outlined in Ephesians.
Ephesians 6:11-17
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for each of us. He has overcome death and the grave. It is through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ, and His written word, that we also can overcome. When life gets rough, lean on Jesus. He is right there with you through it all. Just wipe away the steam of life. There, you see! Jesus is right there with you through it all.
