Isaiah 59:1-2
Sin, Confession and Redemption
59 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
2 But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
At times, we as imperfect people, try to lead ourselves and follow our own direction, not God’s. We allow ourselves on occasion, to be blown off course, and distracted by wordly winds. Thoughts of, I got this may run through our hearts and minds. We must remember to submit control of ourselves to God, and allow Him to lead us in thought, word, and deed. And for those moments when we try to take control from God, to search our hearts, and realize it’s not about us, it’s about God.
We are all imperfect. We will all stumble periodically. Do not be discouraged in life, because with God, all things are possible, and without Him, nothing is (Ref Matthew 19:26). The arms of Jesus are reaching out to save us. His love, grace, and mercy, have been extended to us. His arms are not too short to save us. But, we must be willing to reach for His hands, and accept Him into our lives. Allow Jesus to change us from who we are, to who He wants us to become. Hold on tight to Jesus, and never let go. No matter how hard life gets.
As I continued praying for guidance on my next blog post, God showed me that my motives where genuine, in the desire to share His word with others. But I was trying to take control away from God. I was saying, I got this God! In reality, I have nothing without Jesus.
As hard as it is and was, to give up control, I realized that waiting for God’s guidance was the only thing to do. My human words and thoughts, have absolutely no ability to save anyone. Jesus is the one who saves.
Isaiah 55:8-9
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
If you’re struggling with your life of faith, or just life in general, hold on tight to Jesus. Draw nearer and closer to Him, and His word. Jesus loves each and every one of us. I am reminded of the love Jesus Christ, through bible verse John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
